Polmont Youth Theatre (PYT) is based in the Performing Arts Centre at HMPYOI Polmont and is the first ever youth theatre in a Scottish prison. PYT is led by theatre company Glass Performance in partnership with Barnardos and the Scottish Prison Service.

This project is a legacy from the National Theatre of Scotland’s Futureproof programme in the Year of Young People 2018, when a group of young men in the prison worked together to create MOTION; an original show about what it means to be a young man in Scotland today. The group meet every week inside the prison and make original devised theatre from their own ideas and perspectives about the world as they find it.

Polmont Youth Theatre is currently led by artists Gudrun Soley Sigurdadottir and Ricky Williamson.
